My baby started preschool today!! A classic moment.... me dropping her off and she runs away to start playing. I have to ask her for a goodbye hug before she quickly runs away again, and me, leaving with tears in my eyes. 😭😭 She was nervous, but I think more excited and I'm looking forward to seeing her grow in this new journey. On our last night in Maui we went down to the beach to watch the sunset. The girls were running around, splashing in the waves, when Sloane ran over to me and told me to turn around. Behind us was the most beautiful cotton candy sky with these palm tree silhouettes. We were so busy watching the horizon (which was also beautiful), that we didn't even see the gorgeous skies behind us. I'm so glad for those little eyes, to help me see some of things I'd otherwise miss. Does this happen to anyone else? Feeling extra loved and extra special after my birthday this year. Got this beautiful gem from Matt. We've celebrated 10 birthdays together and while I know they aren't about material things, this girl loves gifts, especially ones like these. Life has seemed busy lately. I don't know if I really have more going on, or if it's all in my head. But I feel frazzled and distracted and definitely haven't been focusing on mindfulness or slowing down. My mind has been going constantly. Worries, to-do lists... I think it's time for a reset. I've been working on getting to bed earlier, but haven't been very successful (so tonight I'll try again). I've also been working on core exercises to help my diastasis recti, and while I've been going strong for about a month, this week has been tough getting the motivation. Sometimes I feel like when I call out my struggles, it's easier to face them. Anyone else? So here's to acknowledging my anxiety. And here's to thanking it and moving along.
